Xiaomi MIUI 14 to be Available Soon, According To New Reports

0

The very first information on MIUI 14 and the phones that will be able to run it has been made available online, courtesy of Xiaomiui. Despite the fact that Xiaomi introduced MIUI 12.5 the previous year, it appears that the firm has chosen not to implement a mid-generation update this time around. Instead, Xiaomi has begun inserting allusions to MIUI 14 within the source code. The picture that has been posted below originates, according to Xiaomiui, from a decompiled version of a system software; however, it is not apparent whose system app this is.

In any case, Xiaomiui reveals that the code strings check to see whether the device known as “nuwa” is running MIUI 14, which is the codename for the Xiaomi 13. If this is the case, then execution of the code will result in the SIM toolkit (STK) being available inside MIUI. As we covered in the previous month’s article, Xiaomi has been testing early models of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro.

It should come as no surprise that Xiaomi is hard at work building its next-generation flagship phone series featuring Android 13 and MIUI 14, the latter of which will most likely be introduced simultaneously with the Xiaomi 13 series. As a point of reference, the name of China’s first emperor is said to be the codename for the next Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone.

According to reports, MIUI 14 would not be available for a large number of smartphones, including the Mi 9 series. If the release of MIUI 13 is any indication, MIUI 14 will stop supporting smartphones running Android 11, leaving only those operating Android 12 or Android 13. As a result, the Redmi 10X series, the Mi 9T series, and the majority of the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 8 series will continue to run on MIUI 13. In addition, the Redmi K20 series will continue to run on MIUI 13.

Additionally, Xiaomi claims that the Redmi 9 series, the POCO C3, and the POCO C31 will not be updated to MIUI 14. In contrast, Xiaomiui claims that Xiaomi will provide an update for approximately 125 different devices, one of which is the Pad 5 series. Note that this list is not official and that it is based on research conducted by Xiaomiui; please keep that in mind.
