WhatsApp Messenger for iPhone 2.19.22 version is here. The screen lock via Touch ID and Face ID is now secure. WhatsApp just released an update for the WhatsApp Messenger for iPhone and is available to download on the iTunes App Store. This update fixes a bug in the recent version as screen lock via fingerprint and facial recognition as it has a vulnerability. This update fixes bugs found in previous releases and does not anticipate new features. Since the last major update, it is now possible to set up WhatsApp to request Face ID or Touch ID to unlock. Thus WhatsApp supports the identification of the user via fingerprint or face recognition.
The screen lock can be activated under Settings -> Account -> Privacy -> Screen lock. There you will find the option to set the period of time whether the WhatsApp Messenger should be blocked immediately or only after 1 minute, 15 minutes or 1 hour. The new feature is available for iPhone 5s and later and iOS 9 and later. The 130 mb update with version number 2.19.22 requires an iPhone with iOS 8.0 and newer and can now be downloaded from the iTunes App Store. More information about this update can be found in the iTunes App Store.
