The anticipated Samsung Galaxy Sport may have been spotted in a series of leaked renders.
The images were published by a reliable source and there is a high chance that they are accurate.
The revamped design is similar to that of the latest Samsung Galaxy S smartphones. The biggest change is marked by the removal of the angular edges in favor of a completely circular crown that looks much better. The design choice may seem minimalistic but it is appropriate.
The source claims that these renders were done by using factory data, a claim that further increases their validity. It is likely that the new watch replace the aging Samsung Gear Sport but the design makes it suitable for almost any situation.
The rotating bezel is missing but this doesn’t mean that it was completely dropped since there is no way to tell where the screen starts. The hardware side buttons are present on the right side of the watch, a position that is favored by many users.
It is likely that one of the buttons will open a contextual menu while the other one could be used as a shortcut to key functions. Bixby integration has been announced as a core feature and it is possible that one of the buttons will activate the virtual assistant.
A high number of sources have claimed that Samsung is actively developing a new smartwatch, currently known under the codename of Pulse. The renders may by referencing this model since the images match the general description of the watch. Other sources claim that Samsung will include all the future watches under the Galaxy brand, a theory that is also viable.
When it comes to specification the future watch seems to be quite powerful. Samsung may include up to 4GB of RAM, enough to power a new version of its proprietary Tizen operating system. Other specifications are not available as of now, but the situation may change in the future.
