Samsung Galaxy S9 vs. Motorola Moto G6 Plus – Specs, Details and All News

The smartphone market keeps on getting bigger and bigger with all these newest releases. But among releases, there are also some rumors on upcoming smartphones. Today, we will talk about two rumored smartphones and how they could compete against each other, looking at their future specs.

We’re looking at Samsung Galaxy S9 and Motorola Moto G6 Plus.

Let’s see all the specs that have been gathered so far and which handheld device would be a better purchase.

Samsung Galaxy S9 – News, Specs and Features

This smartphone, which is actually going to be a phablet, is rumored to be released in 2018, in February. So far, we know that it will come with Android OS, v7.1 (Nougat), although there are some other rumors that would say otherwise. Maybe Samsung Galaxy S9 will receive the Android 8.0, since we’ve heard that Samsung is working on updating the Galaxy S8.

Galaxy S9 will have a Super AMOLED 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels. It will be powered by an Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon, and come in two variants: 6 GB RAMs or 8 GB RAMs, with either 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage.

Camera-wise, it has a rear dual-sensor setup with two camera sensors of 16 MP each. The front camera will only have 8 MP. Looking at what the Samsung Galaxy 8 has right now, we think that it’s a great improvement – from 12 MP to 16 MP.

Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a huge capacity battery: 4200 mAh battery that will be able to hold alive all those awesome hardware, considering that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a 3000 mAh battery.

Other features include a fingerprint sensor, NFC, and wireless charging. Samsung Galaxy S9 is also Waterproof. And it better be, looking at how great its specs are, and how expensive it could be: over $1,000!

Motorola Moto G6 Plus – News, Specs and Features

Motorola Moto G6 Plus might be launched next year. It will come with Android OS, v8.0, at a smaller price than the Samsung Galaxy S9, but a lot less capabilities as well. You would have to pay about $280 for it, this making it a mid-range smartphone.

We hope that in terms of design, the Moto G6 Plus will come with slimmer bezels than its predecessor!

Moto G6 Plus comes with an IPS LCD 5.5-inch display, having a smaller resolution, 1080 x 1920 pixels – about half of what Samsung Galaxy S9 brings to the table. The good news is that the processor is an Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon too, but it will surely be mid-range, so expect for a 630 SoC.

Moto G6 Plus will have only one variant, coming with 64 GB internal storage and 4 GB of RAM.

Looking at the rumors for the camera setup, we could see a dual read camera setup with a primary 16 MP sensor and a 13 MP secondary one. The front camera will be similar to Galaxy S9’s – 8 MP.

There is also a mention on 4K Video recording ability.

The battery for Moto G6 Plus is good enough for its less consuming hardware: 3500 mAh.

Another feature to be seen at Moto G6 Plus is a fingerprint sensor.

Conclusion: Which Smartphone is a Better Purchase

Of course, looking at the prices, we would choose Motorola’s Moto G6 Plus, as it is over $700 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S9. We recommend Moto G6 Plus for those who are on a budget.

But let’s face it, Samsung Galaxy S9 would be a better choice if we would not care about the prices. Samsung Galaxy S9 comes at a 4K resolution, with a far better display and a lot more features. Think of it as a Samsung Galaxy S8, but on steroids.
