Samsung Galaxy J7 Updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat (T-Mobile: SM-J700T1 & SM-J700T) – Bug Fixes and System Enhancement

Samsung’s Galaxy J7 is getting the Android Nougat update. A great majority of users are from Asian markets, but some of the Samsung Galaxy J7 from the US have also started getting the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for two models: the SM-J700T1 and the SM-J700T.

The previous Android Nougat update rolled out on the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 variant in August. The  J7 2015 model receiving it at a later date, both getting the July security patch.

T-mobile variants have received the J700TUVU3BQI5 build, having a size of 1.3 GB. MetroPCS have a different build number J700T1UVU3BQI5, but a similar size.

This update packs all that you’d expect from the latest Nougat update. Users will have split windows and a different looking settings panel. There are some battery optimizations, bug fixes and stability enhancement.

Samsung Galaxy J7: Preparing to Update to a New Operating System Build

If you have a Samsung Galaxy J7 and you’re not from a country that already has received the update, you should wait a bit, since it will roll out in phases. Keep in mind to have at least 60% battery to avoid any failure if your phone turns off. Download the update via WiFi and not mobile data.

All you can do except for waiting is to monitor if there is any update available for your device. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates.

Don’t forget to back-up your Apps and messages, contacts and any other important thing that might be lost in the process of updating.

The Samsung Galaxy J series will soon receive updates with the Android Nougat 7.1.1 in Latin America, and then India, with J7 Prime already getting the Nougat 7.1.1 update.
