Samsung Galaxy A8 gets the Android 7.0 Nougat Update With New Improvements
Good news! There’s a pretty high chance that Samsung plans to offer one last major update to users who have purchased the Galaxy A8.
Origins of Samsung Galaxy A8 and the timeline of its OS updates
The first Galaxy A8 penetrated the market back in 2015, and after that, the company also launched one more Galaxy A8 model last year, but it wasn’t very clear if this year another one would be released as well.
The original Galaxy A8 reached users running the Android 5.0 Lollipop, but Samsung launched a Marshmallow update in 2016. The smartphone was launched two years ago so it was quite unlikely that the device would receive more Android updates for its operating system,
But Samsung Galaxy A8 with Android 7.0 Nougat on board was recently listed at Wi-Fi Alliance; there seems to be a pretty high chance that the company plans on making users happy and offer one last significant update to those who purchased the Galaxy A8.
Hoping for the best
Even if Samsung is one of the world’s largest smartphone makers, the company is not also among the companies that deliver Android OS updates in the swiftest manner possible. Some would even say that the firm is among the last ones to offer significant OS upgrades, especially in the case of mid-range devices.
We can’t get very excited yet as there is no guarantee that the original Galaxy A8 will indeed be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat sometime soon. But we can deal with it, and all we can do for now is hope for the best. It’s interesting to note the fact that usually when a Samsung phone is listed at Wi-Fi Alliance, and it’s running a brand new version of Android, it eventually gets the update after a while, so chances are pretty high that things will happen the same way this time as well. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
