Samsung Galaxy A5 Finally Receives the Android Nougat Update
Samsung Galaxy A5 was released last year and now it is finally receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.
Russia was the first one to get the Nougat update
It has been reported that the on-the-air update already arrived in Russia and Samsung Galaxy A5 owners have already posted videos online with their upgrade. The update with the build number A510FXXU4CQDK is expected to roll out globally, but this might take some time.
Samsung is particularly focusing on getting a newer Android firmware on its devices, and the fact that the Galaxy A5 received the update is a sign that the South Korean company did not forget about its mid-range models. Samsung will also bring the Nougat version to other products such as Galaxy A3 (2016 & 2017), Galaxy A7 (2016 & 2017) and Galaxy A8 (the 2016 version).
How to check if you received the OTA update
If you want to be sure that your device is running the new Android 7.0 firmware you can check it easily. Go to Settings and navigate to the About Phone section. Tap System Updates and select Check for new firmware.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy A5 and you get the OTA update you will notice that you will be able to use some brand new features like multi-window options, enhanced battery optimization, night mode and many others. Your phone will also have a better interface and it will be easier to use.
This update is welcomed, but Google already released Android 8.0 Oreo. Hopefully one day in the future all Android devices will be able to run the latest OS version right after it is released. For now, most users will have to be happy with the Nougat version.
