OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are getting Android Oreo Beta with New Features
The OnePlus 3 smartphone variants received the Android 8.0 Oreo Beta update, using the company’s Open Beta program. The Chinese company brought the update in the form of OxygenOs beta built 16, introduced officially on Saturday and which weights under 870MB.

The beta version of the Oreo OS will also come with the September 2017 Android update. The company also specified other features which will debut together with the OS update such as Picture-in-Picture mode, smart text selection, form auto-fill and Quick Settings.
Even so, the new Android OS might still crash or cause other issues on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices, due to the fact that it is only a beta build up till now. Some issues were already identified by the OnePlus company such as problems associated with a firmware update, unreliable Bluetooth and NFC support, slow fingerprint reading and some concerns regarding the device’s performance. Google Photos feature is unavailable after the user installs the Oreo Beta update.
The last OS update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T
The Shenzen-based company has announced that Android 8.0 Oreo OS is going to be the last major update for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices. It is likely that the newest device, OnePlus 5 will receive the Android 9.0 P update at the end of 2018, beginning of 2019.
It is not known how long it will take the Chinese company to optimize the software so as to release it at a global level.
The OnePlus 3 smartphone was released for the first time in June 2016 and the OnePlus 3T was released back in November last year. The devices have low prices and high features and specifications. The OnePlus 3 used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory storage.
