Nexus 5X and 6P Get Extended Security Patch with New Improvements
Google smartphones have always been very much hit and miss. Although each of their models have their own fan base, we can surely say that many of them have fallen from public grace. Still, opinions differ. But two unanimously popular smartphones designed by Google are the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Although Google’s Nexus line has fallen in the background while the Pixels are taking over, it’s no secret that the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P still have a lot of users and fans.
Maybe this is why what we’re about to say is not going to sound shocking. Google has just extended their security patch time frame for the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Although the time frame for receiving patches was the same for the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P as for other Nexus devices, this information has now been updated by Google without any further explanation. You can see this in the image attached below.
Seeing as how Google gave no reason for why the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P have been graced with this extension, we are left to speculate. Maybe Google realized that the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P are their most beloved devices from the Nexus line and some people would like to keep on using them in 2018. Or maybe it was just a mistake, although that’s hard to believe. A big company like Google with such a good track record wouldn’t mess up like that.
So if you own the Nexus 5X and/or the Nexus 6P, now’s the time to get excited. Google seems to want to keep the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P around for as long as possible, so that’s a good sign. What do you think?
