Google’s New Update for Playground AR Introduces Japanese Phrases

0

Google is one of the world’s most innovative companies in terms of software and there is no doubt about that. The Android parent is always looking for news to create cool apps and to release them exclusively for Android-powered smartphones. The perfect example of this is the app called Playground. The app is developed by Google and it can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. What makes this app special is the fact that it is available only for Pixel smartphones and that it uses AR (augmented reality) technology in order to help people snap funny and amazing photos.

New Playground Update

The reason why Google’s Playground AR app is making headlines today is because it has just received a new update. The update is being rolled out OTA (over the air) right now and we advise all Playground users to keep their Pixel smartphones connected to a Wi-Fi network since the update should arrive any moment now.

In addition, downloading the update over a stable Wi-Fi network is always better than on mobile data because as we all know, mobile data can be pretty expensive and this is heavyweight update. Nonetheless, let’s see what kind of features the new update introduces.

Japanese Phrases

Pixel smartphone users who love watching anime or know a little bit of Japanese should be happy to know that Playground now features Japanese phrases. These phrases are used as AR stickers in the app and everyone can use them in order to make their photos say something in Japanese or to make them look more interesting.

These phrases are obviously targeted at Google’s Japanese fanbase and English users are going to have a difficult time understanding what they say. However, this doesn’t mean that they don’t look cool or that English speaking Pixel users should not use them.
