Galaxy Note 20: Hardware specification suggests a “Lite” version

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra model no longer has many secrets for the internet, but the standard Galaxy Note20 model has not been so publicized in recent weeks. However, the South Korean manufacturer could not keep the secrets of this model too long hidden. However, it seems that unlike the Galaxy S20 models, between which there were minimal differences, the standard Galaxy Note20 model will be significantly different from the Ultra model.

The standard Galaxy Note20 could be a “lite” version of the Ultra model

First of all, the Galaxy Note20 will be a flat screen model, not a curved one, as we have encountered since the Galaxy Note 7 (rest in piece) until now. Then that screen will be, as in the case of last year’s Note10, one with Full HD + resolution, not QHD. But the biggest downgrade seems to be the screen refresh rate, which drops from 120 Hz to 60 Hz on the standard model. At least the dimensions will be generous, with a diagonal of 6.7 ”.

Another important difference will be obvious in the case of the camera. The standard Galaxy Note20 will have a camera similar to the Galaxy S20, not the Ultra. It is a three-camera system in 12 (wide) + 12 (ultrawide) + 64 (3x zoom) megapixel format. Thus, the zoom will be croped on the sensor, and this sensor will also provide 8K footage. However, it seems that even the S-Pen will be of a lower quality on this model. The Note20 Ultra will have a 9 ms latency S-Pen, while the standard Note20 will have a 26 ms latency stylus. However, the battery will not be extremely different, the capacity of 4,300 mAh being only slightly less than 4,500 mAh on Ultra.

The hardware will not be much different from the Galaxy S20

In terms of hardware configuration, the Galaxy Note20 could be equipped with an Exynos 990 5G chipset, just like the Galaxy S20 series, in Europe, while the RAM could be limited to 8 GB. Some rumors say that this model could be built with a glass back, compared to glass on the Note20 Ultra. However, the colors of the case could be similar: Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green and Mystic Gray, with a matte texture.

It’s kind of weird to see these details about the Galaxy Note20. It seems that Samsung is launching with the Galaxy Note20 Ultra and a “Lite” version, which is close in terms of specifications, but which makes some compromises.

Both phones are expected to launch on August 5, along with a new Galaxy Z Fold2 model, a new watch and a pair of true wireless headphones.
