Fix HDMI No Sound in Windows 10
The HDMI no sound error in Windows 10 is more common than you think. So if you come across it, do not worry. We are here to help. Here are the three recommended ways to fix the pesky HDMI no sound error in Windows 10.
- Set HDMI as default
The first thing you can do to get rid of this issue is to set your HDMI as your default device. In fact, most of the time this error occurs because HDMI is not set as default. So to do that, right click on the sound volume icon that you can find in the lower right corner of your start bar. In the menu that pops up, click on Playback devices. Select your HDMI or Digital Output device and click Set Default.
- Update your sound driver
As we’ve said before and we’ll say again, out of date drivers are the main cause of any issue in Windows. Of course there are others too, but more often than not your driver needs a good updating. The easiest way to do this is with Driver Easy. The program scans your computer and automatically recognizes drivers that need updating. So it does the work for you. All you need to do is download and install it.
- Check your hardware
Another recommendation we can make in this situation is for you to check your hardware. Sometimes sound might not play due to a hardware malfunction, not a driver one. So check your cable, the output port and the monitor. If you discover that the issue is with one of these, you need to fix them individually. Of course, for monitor issues, it is recommended you ask for help from a professional technician.
