WhatsApp has introduced the newest beta version available for Android devices and it includes major updates. Some of the most important ones include smaller app size, a feature notifying contact when the user changes phone number and more.

The newest update brings several features as reported by the technology website Teknepolis. The latest WhatsApp beta version 2.17.375 will occupy less space (6MB less) and it eliminated 20 libraries. The new app will notify all the contacts in the user’s phone when she/he changes number, every single time.

Another improvement is the 473 files correcting several issues. The minimum requirement for devices to download the instant messaging app is to use Android OS 2.3.3 or above and have access to internet data. The app does not support Tablet devices.

The instant messaging platform can be downloaded for free and used to make voice/video calls, send texts, images GIFs, videos, documents, contacts, voice notes, audio files and user location. The app was released eight years ago and this year the app will also receive the business platform. WhatsApp business will help users separate their private life from work.

Users who have separate business and personal phone numbers can use both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business apps on the same phone and using different numbers. The new business app will include a business profile, business messaging tools and landline number support.

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging application with over one billion user base. Users prefer it for its speed, security such as end-to-end encryption and interface. The WhatsApp Inc. company was acquired by Facebook back in February 2014 and since then the app has continued to grow in popularity, introducing voice calls, then video calls and many other new features.
