Windows Phone hasn’t made it through time and now we’ve had an official confirmation from Joe Belfiore that they have already moved on and far – far away from Windows Phone. Of course, this does not mean that they will no longer provide support for the devices that are already used around the world. It’s just that they will not release other hardware or a new Windows OS version.

But there isn’t going to be a Windows Phone anymore, as the company focuses on making software and embedding parts of Windows experience into other operating systems: iOS and Android. And this action started way back, in 2014 when Microsoft launched Office apps for iOS. Now Microsoft launched Cortana and a launcher for Android.

Right now, iOS has Microsoft Edge beta, while Android is getting a preview of what is to come.

Microsoft Edge, the default browser of Window 10 is a web browser that promotes a secured and clean Internet Explorer version. Coming to mobile devices, Microsoft Edge will bring a few loved features, such as design, Hub and reading view. Microsoft Edge will sync the browsing data and let you open web pages from your mobile on your PC with only one tap.

Of course, if Microsoft will add an Ad-blocker to their Microsoft Edge, it would be a great bargain, as many users expect this feature and other useful extensions.

If you are interested in getting Microsoft Edge for your smartphone, then you can check Google Play Store and sign up for the preview. As it is a preview version, users might encounter some bugs when they run the browser. Before 2017 ends, Microsoft Edge should be officially launched and fully functional on both iOS and Android, and it might also be available on tablets.
