We all know about the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that was released in 2014, but supposedly, there might have been another Surface that got canceled at the last minute. Could Microsoft have planned a release of a smaller edition of Surface tablet, entitled “Surface Mini” in 2014? Based on what Windows Central said, it might have been so.
Back in 2014, a third party has revealed an event for a Surface Mini product long before Microsoft’s planned ceremony in New York City. The case provided into rumors and leaks that the company could reveal a smaller version of the Surface tablet. Several weeks later, the only tablet that was announced to the public was the Surface Pro 3, no details whatsoever of an existent “mini” version of the aforementioned tablet. Now, however, Windows Central has posted some supposed pictures of what the rumored Surface Mini would have looked like.
There is no known validity behind the Window Central’s pictures, but they also have shared what the specs for the Surface Mini tablet would have been:
While the specs are not exactly shocking and new to the world, the said Surface Mini would have been the first Microsoft’s crack at building a tablet under 10 inches (its Surface line supposedly been ranged from 10 to 12 inches). It would have been quite interesting and appealing to have seen the new size, but unfortunately, Microsoft would not let this happen. The latest Surface tablet, the Surface Pro, from the same generation, has been released In June.
No Microsoft representatives have wished to comment on the story.
